Achelous

"Achelous" is an immersive, environmental adventure built on the Unity Game Engine, blending poignant narrative with compelling action gameplay. As Product Lead, Lead Sound Designer, 3D Artist, and Scrum Master, I directed the project's vision, technical implementation, and artistic atmosphere.


The game's narrative begins with the player awakening as a robot in a future where the world is submerged and ravaged by millennia of plastic pollution. The core mission is to restore the decimated oceanic ecosystem. The primary gameplay mechanic centres on the ability to destroy plastic waste, which grants the player speed and energy, creating a thrilling race against time across an expansive, underwater map.


Key contributions and skills demonstrated:

  • Product Leadership & Scrum Master: Managed the development pipeline, set project priorities, and utilised Scrum methodology to ensure efficient teamwork and timely feature delivery.

  • 3D Art & Animation: Developed the hauntingly beautiful underwater environment, including Modelling and Texturing for the robot and environmental assets, and implementing necessary Animation.

  • Programming (C#): Implemented the core mechanics, focusing on the speed-gain system, collision logic, and player controls within the Unity engine.

  • Sound Design & Music Production: Created the immersive auditory landscape, composing original music and designing sound effects that amplify the game's poignant and suspenseful atmosphere.

  • UI/UX & Research: Designed the in-game interface (UI/UX) and conducted Research to effectively translate environmental themes into meaningful gameplay objectives.


"Achelous" showcases my ability to lead complex, technically demanding projects while maintaining creative control over critical components like 3D art, sound design, and C# programming, resulting in an unforgettable, socially conscious interactive experience.
