Loco Motion

"Loco Motion" is a fast-paced, stylized 3D endless runner optimized for iOS and Android devices. As the Solo Project Creator (Lead Designer, UI/UX Expert, Artist, and Programmer), I was responsible for the entire pipeline, from concept and core mechanics to art implementation and mobile performance optimization.

The core gameplay requires players to master timing jumps (quick taps vs. holds) to survive an ever-increasing train speed while navigating obstacles and collecting coins.

Key Features & Systems:

  • Progression & Retention: Coins collected serve as currency for unlocking new train skins, environments, and strategic power-ups (e.g., Coin Magnet, Shield, Slow Motion).

  • Monetization Design: Implemented a hybrid monetization structure using in-app purchases (for skins/power-ups) and rewarded ads (for revives and boosts), ensuring a free-to-play model with revenue streams.

  • Visual & Performance: Features a vibrant, cartoonish aesthetic with lightweight, optimized 3D assets and smooth 60 FPS performance, ensuring accessibility and visual appeal on mobile devices.

Key contributions and skills demonstrated:

  • Game & Level Design: Designed the core endless runner mechanics, progression curves, power-up balancing, and distance-based scoring system.

  • Programming (C# / Unity): Developed the train control logic, procedural level generation, collision detection, and implemented the complex progression and monetization systems.

  • 3D Art & Animation: Created all stylized low-poly 3D models for the trains, environments, and obstacles, and implemented corresponding Animation sequences.

  • UI/UX Design & Mobile Development: Designed the thematic UI and accessible on-screen controls, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience optimized specifically for small touchscreens.

"Loco Motion" showcases comprehensive, end-to-end mobile development expertise, demonstrating the ability to blend rapid gameplay with strategic monetization and polished aesthetics.
