FSS Digital Experience

"FSS Digital Experience" is a compelling interactive 3D application developed as my graduation project during an internship at Resato Hydrogen Technology. Resato, a leader in hydrogen refueling solutions, faced a critical market challenge: many perceived them as selling only individual components, specifically hydrogen dispensers, rather than complete, custom-built, and fully integrated Full Sized Stations (FSS) comprising unloading skids, compressors, cooling units, storage modules, and dispensers.


As the Sole Product Developer for this project, my goal was to create an intuitive digital twin that would clearly showcase Resato's comprehensive FSS offering and how each component seamlessly integrates. The application is designed for presentation on large interactive touch-screen displays at exhibitions and for internal training.


The core of the experience revolves around an immersive 3D model of an FSS, allowing users to:

  • Navigate Intuitively: Control camera rotation around the station with a single finger, and zoom in/out with a two-finger pinch gesture.

  • Explore Components: Tap on any component to open a detailed explanation panel. Alternatively, holding a finger on a component for two seconds automatically shifts the camera's focus to that module. A navigation bar also lists all modules, allowing for quick camera shifts.

  • Focus on Detail: Utilize the "Focal" button to hide all other components, providing an unobstructed 360-degree view of the selected module. An "Info" button provides the detailed explanation panel. (Future updates will include animations like spinning fans and hydrogen flow visualization within these explanations).


This project directly addresses Resato's core problem by visually articulating the integrated nature of their FSS. It serves as a powerful tool for:

  • Customer Acquisition: Clarifying Resato's full station capabilities to potential clients, fostering confidence and informed decision-making.

  • Investor Relations: Presenting Resato's comprehensive technology and innovation in an accessible, impactful format.

  • New Hire Training: Providing an engaging and efficient visual aid to accelerate understanding of the complex integrated systems.


Key contributions and skills demonstrated:

  • Research: Conducted extensive research into user needs (UX testing and feedback implementation) and effective simplification strategies for complex technical information.

  • Unity & C# Development: Solely programmed the entire interactive application, developing core functionalities, UI systems, and backend logic.

  • UI/UX Design: Designed and implemented an intuitive user interface optimized for large touchscreens, prioritizing ease of use and accessibility.

  • 3D Modelling & Texturing: Developed and applied textures to the realistic 3D models of the hydrogen station components, ensuring visual fidelity and technical accuracy.


The "FSS Digital Experience" showcases my ability to translate complex industry challenges into highly functional, user-friendly, and visually compelling interactive solutions, highlighting expertise in game engine development, 3D art, and user-centered design.
