Toucan Insights

The Digital Marketing Internship at Toucan Insights was a 20-week professional project designed to immerse me in the day-to-day operations of a digital marketing agency and apply my creative media skills to commercial challenges. As the Creative Media Designer and Social Management Intern, my focus was on bridging design, content creation, and measurable marketing strategy.


The internship consisted of several crucial activities, starting with market and competitor analysis presented using data visualization. I was then responsible for a significant content overhaul:

  • Social Media Redesign: Implementing iterative design processes using tools like Canva and Affinity Photo to restructure existing social media posts and establish a structured content calendar.

  • SEO & Content Strategy: Learning and implementing core SEO strategies, including in-depth keyword research and website audits for test clients (like PaperSource and FreedamTours) to improve both UX and SEO performance.

  • Multimedia & Copywriting: Creating new, unique content for Instagram, writing unique articles and blog posts, and producing necessary audio enhancements and video content.


My work culminated in a personal client task focused on hashtag optimization and strategic content planning, which resulted in a substantial, verified increase (nearly 10 times) in the client's social media reach. The project demanded continuous use of professional tools including Metricool, Inssist, Manychat, Notion, and various AI tools for streamlined social management.

Key contributions and skills demonstrated:

  • Digital Design & Branding: Redesigning and creating consistent visual content using Affinity and Canva, ensuring adherence to client branding.

  • Social Media Marketing & SEO: Conducting market research, implementing keyword strategy, and driving measurable growth in reach and engagement.

  • Content Creation: Demonstrating strong writing skills (articles, blogs, copy) and multimedia production (video/audio editing).

  • Time Management & Advertising: Managing simultaneous client tasks under tight deadlines and structuring content for maximum impact.


This internship showcases my ability to translate technical creative skills into effective, results-driven digital marketing campaigns and operate efficiently within a professional agency environment.
