
Vestige
"Vestige" is a compelling sci-fi 2D roguelike concept game developed as a solo capstone project focused entirely on Narrative Design, Monetization, and Market Strategy. The goal was to fully flesh out the design, story, and commercial framework of a complex narrative game, demonstrating expertise beyond implementation.
The core concept centers on Emit, a young rebel with the power to rewind time, who battles the tyrannical mega-corporation Imperious. The design integrates the time rewind mechanic into procedurally generated zones and moral choices that drive the narrative.
In my role as Lead Narrative Designer, Artist, Monetization and Marketing Lead, and Pitch/Funding Organiser, I was responsible for the entire creative and commercial vision of the game.
Key contributions and skills demonstrated:
Lead Narrative Design & Concept Art: Developed the overarching dystopian lore, detailed character creation, branching narrative paths (Choice-Driven Narrative), and the game's core loop ("Fight → Rewind → Adapt → Overcome → Rebuild").
Monetization & Financial Management: Designed and created the financial models and monetization structure (e.g., in-game purchases, battle pass structure) appropriate for the roguelike genre.
Marketing Campaign Management & Sales: Developed a comprehensive marketing campaign strategy, defined target audiences, and structured a compelling pitch and funding proposal suitable for investors and publishers.
2D Art & Presentation: Created key 2D art assets to establish the visual style and produced high-quality presentation materials to effectively sell the concept's potential.
"Vestige" showcases my ability to transition complex creative ideas into a commercially viable product through expertise in narrative structure, financial planning, strategic marketing, and effective pitching.
