Ripple

"Ripple" is a compelling 2D detective game that plunges players into a gripping murder mystery. As Product Lead and Narrative Designer, I spearheaded the creative vision and storyline, ensuring a rich, branching narrative where player decisions profoundly impact the investigation's outcome and character fates.


Players assume the role of a seasoned detective called to an unfamiliar city, tasked with solving a mass murder where personal stakes are exceptionally high. The gameplay revolves around investigating crime scenes, uncovering crucial clues, and engaging with a diverse cast of characters. The core innovation lies in the consequence-driven narrative: every choice made creates "ripples" that force players to confront moral dilemmas between pursuing truth and protecting loved ones.


Key contributions and skills demonstrated:

  • Narrative Design: Crafted a complex, branching storyline with significant player choice and impactful consequences, focusing on moral dilemmas and character development.

  • GameMaker Language Programming: Implemented core game mechanics and interactive systems using GameMaker's object-based programming, ensuring smooth gameplay flow.

  • 2D Art Sprite Creation & Animation: Designed and animated all in-game sprites, contributing to the atmospheric visuals and character expressions.

  • Sound Design & Music Production: Created the immersive auditory landscape, composing original music and designing sound effects that enhance the game's suspenseful atmosphere.
