Brief
Developed as a solo capstone project, "Vestige" serves as a full-scale design and business framework for a narrative-driven roguelike. The objective was to move beyond implementation and demonstrate expertise in Lead Narrative Design and Monetization Strategy, creating a commercially viable product pitch that balances complex dystopian lore with sustainable financial models.

The Process
Phase 1: Dystopian Lore & Narrative Architecture
The design began with the construction of a comprehensive "World Bible" for the city of Ouroboros. I architected the "Fight → Rewind → Adapt" core loop, ensuring that the time-manipulation mechanics were intrinsically tied to the player's moral choices. By developing branching narrative paths, I created a system where procedural zones reflect the consequences of the player's revolutionary actions.

Phase 2: Visual Identity & Concept Art
To effectively sell the vision to potential stakeholders, I developed a distinct 2D visual style. I created key character assets and environmental sketches that establish a gritty, high-contrast sci-fi aesthetic. These visuals were used to anchor the game’s tone, ensuring the "Visual Punctuation" of the dystopian setting was clear and professionally presented.

Phase 3: Monetization & Financial Modelling
A primary focus of this project was the development of a sustainable Monetization Structure. I designed a financial model tailored specifically for the roguelike genre, incorporating ethical in-game purchases and a tiered battle pass system. This involved structuring a commercial framework that supports long-term player retention without compromising the narrative integrity of the experience.

Phase 4: Marketing Strategy & Pitch Development
The final stage involved crafting a comprehensive Market Strategy and funding proposal. I defined the target demographics and managed a theoretical marketing campaign, structuring a compelling pitch suitable for publishers and investors. This showcased the ability to translate creative concepts into a strategic business plan, focusing on sales potential and community growth.
The Results
"Vestige" resulted in a professionally structured product pitch that proves a sophisticated understanding of the game industry's commercial landscape. By synchronising complex narrative design with rigorous financial planning and strategic marketing, the project demonstrates the capability to act as a Product Lead, capable of taking a high-level concept from initial spark to a commercially viable, investment-ready proposal.
